Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, Egypt – 2018. The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Museum of Cairo is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. The current building on Tahrir Square in central Cairo was opened in 1902. One section of the museum contains a large display of items recovered from the tomb of King Tutankhamen’s which is one of the only pharaohs’ tombs not to have been opened and robbed in antiquity. A new replacement museum, the Grand Egyptian Museum is currently under constructions in Giza and is scheduled to open in 2021.
